Ouai-STED with Jen Atkin!
Confession: I have a real obsession with Ouai products! Yes, the packaging is perfect (what can I say, I’m married to a designer) and all the products smell so delicious! I have thick, frizz prone, color treated hair and these products combined with my shampoo & conditioner give me the exact look i want-finally!
Ouai was created by celebrity hair genius Jen Atkin, who is know for creating the lived-in textured hair that gives you the perfect model off duty look. Atkin’s clients range from Chrissy Tiegen, Jenna Dewan Tatum, to Bella Hadid and their looks never disappoint! But, don’t be swayed by her client list because Atkin’s products and tutorials make her perfect looks attainable for the girl on the go. Her “less is more” mantra is one I can get behind when it comes to styling my hair! Here she is working on one of my favorite bloggers Marianna Hewitt and with the incomparable Kahlana Barfield to show us how to get the perfect waves.

Textured Hairspray- Atkin describes this as “if hairspray and dry shampoo had a baby.” Really tho, she’s not wrong! It gives your hair a flexible hold while giving you the piecey texture dry shampoo provides. When I apply this, I hold the ends of my hair and let it fall while spraying the product in. This technique helps to apply the product more evenly and really gets it into the depths of the hair to ensure layers of texture.
Wave Spray- I use this after rough drying my hair when I want a beachy look (or if I don’t feel like curling or straightening my hair). Since I have natural wavy hair, this helps to give it definition and then I just touch it up with my curling iron.
Rose Hair & Body Oil- I really can’t express how heavenly this smells. I am a huge fan of rose products and this one is hands down one of my favorites. The light, silky consistency is so hydrating and I love that it is a fast drying oil. You can use this on your hair or skin to provide a beautiful scent and a light shimmer on the skin all while soaking in the rich oils. Perfection all around!
Matte Pomade- This is my latest trial from the Ouai line, I love having a moldable product to give texture to the ends of my hair that won’t weigh it down. You can also twist small sections of your hair and apply this to give a more dimensional look to your tresses.
